At Summer Sessions at The Animal Farm, we are committed to fostering a welcoming environment that values diversity, equity, inclusion, and mutual respect. We believe that trust, compassion, honesty, and integrity are essential to creating a positive experience for all participants and staff members. While we celebrate individual differences, behaviors that negatively affect the health, welfare, or safety of others are not acceptable.

Our primary goal is to ensure that every participant successfully completes the program in a safe, supportive, and enjoyable environment. If behavioral concerns arise, we will communicate openly with the participant and their family and work collaboratively to address the issue. Depending on the nature or severity of the behavior, this process may include temporary removal from activities, early pickup, or outright dismissal without reimbursement from the program.

We ask that every participant in Summer Sessions at The Animal Farm carefully read and agree to the following behavior expectations. Questions or concerns regarding these expectations should be directed to the program director.

As a participant, I agree that:

• I will follow all safety instructions provided by Summer Sessions at The Animal Farm staff.
• I will make every reasonable effort to protect the health and safety of myself, other people, animals, equipment, and the natural environment.
• I will immediately inform a staff member if I experience distress, injury, illness, or an inability to participate safely in an activity.
• I will conduct myself in a manner that respects the rights, personal boundaries, property, and privacy of others.
• I will not engage in aggressive, threatening, discriminatory, or intimidating behavior, including hate speech, bullying, harassment, or cyberbullying.
• I will not possess or use alcohol, tobacco, vaping products, illegal drugs, or controlled substances.
• I will not bring, possess, or use firearms, weapons, or other dangerous items.
• I will not misuse prescription or over-the-counter medications. Any medication brought to camp must be disclosed in advance and handled according to the camp’s medication policies.
• I will not use excessively foul, discriminatory, sexually explicit, or otherwise inappropriate language or humor.
• I will not engage in fighting, unwanted physical contact, or aggressive physical behavior toward staff members or other participants.
• I will remain within designated camp areas and will not enter restricted or unauthorized spaces without staff permission.
• I will follow staff instructions regarding the use of phones, personal electronic devices, social media, and other forms of electronic communication.
• I will immediately seek assistance from a staff member if I experience thoughts of self-harm, suicidal thoughts, or an emotional or mental-health crisis.
• I will make a sincere effort to bring a positive attitude, honesty, personal responsibility, and integrity to the camp experience.
• I will not engage in disruptive behavior that compromises the safety, learning, participation, or enjoyment of the program for others, including during trips or off-site activities.
• I will not engage in sexual activity or other inappropriate intimate conduct with another participant.
• I will treat musical instruments, recording equipment, studio equipment, facilities, and the belongings of others with care and respect.
• I agree that the purposeful misuse or egregious behavior that results in the damage of The Animal Farm equipment may result in me being held liable to cover the costs of repair to the equipment, at the discretion of The Animal Farm and the camp director.
• I understand that serious or repeated violations of this agreement may result in dismissal without reimbursement from Summer Sessions at The Animal Farm.
